I'm sure that you already know about the Pied Piper of Hamelin. It's a very old German folk tale that tells the story of what happens when the people of Hamelin refuse to pay a piper after he gets rid of the rats that are overunning their town.

What's in a name?
Choosing the right name for a character is very important. It can also be quite difficult. I chose the name Felix because it means lucky and happy. It's also a name that a German boy might have had at the time the story is set.
